If you’re interested in an SUV, then the Ford lineup has something for you because there are so many great crossovers and SUVs available from Ford that it’s easy to find the perfect fit for pretty much anyone. As your premier Ford dealer in Westminster, VT, the amazing team of people at Faith’s Ford, part of Faith’s Automotive, are ready to assist you with everything you need, including looking at all of your options and choosing the perfect model. For many people, the best way to shop for a car involves doing some research ahead of time to figure out just what you want before you ever reach out to a dealership or visit their lot. So we thought it would be helpful to briefly go over the lineup of Ford SUVs and see what each one brings to the road (or off-road).

The Ford Escape

Kicking things off, we have the Ford Escape, a compact crossover model that’s a terrific choice if you’re looking for something that can fit into pretty much any lifestyle. Whether you have a small family or you need something just for you and your partner, the Escape is a terrific choice. There are numerous engines offered for the Escape starting with a 1.5L Turbo that offers 180 hp and 199 lb-ft of torque or an available 2.0L Turbo that boosts performance to 250 hp and 280 lb-ft of torque. You can even get a hybrid or plug-in hybrid version of the Escape, giving you fantastic fuel efficiency.

Inside the 2023 Escape, you’ll find a surprisingly spacious interior with two rows of seating for up to five people. In models with non-hybrid engines, you get 37.5 cu.ft. of rear cargo space behind the back seats, along with 65.4 cu.ft. of total cargo volume behind the front seats. An eight-inch infotainment system is standard, but there’s an available 13.2-inch display that you can upgrade to for a superior experience on the road. With up to 3,500 lbs of towing capacity available, the Escape is a great choice for a wide range of drivers.

The Ford Edge

Next up, we have the Edge, which is a midsize model that’s perfect if you’re looking for something in that “just right” space between too big and too small. This is still a two-row model, with seating for up to five people, so you won’t find a massive amount of room inside, but the midsize design is ideal for many people. Two engines are available for the Edge: a standard 2.0L I-4 that offers 250 hp and 280 lb-ft of torque or a 2.7L V6 with 335 hp and 380 lb-ft of torque.

Inside the Edge, you’ll find plenty of room to load up with friends and family, plus anything that you need to bring with you. With its larger interior, the 2023 Edge offers 39.2 cu.ft. of rear cargo space and 73.4 cu.ft. of total cargo volume behind the front seats. Every Edge comes with a gorgeous 12-inch infotainment display and fantastic technology throughout, so you really can’t go wrong with this one.

The Ford Explorer

If you have more passengers that you want to bring along with you, then the Ford Explorer is a great SUV to look at for a more spacious interior and extra seating. The Explorer is a three-row SUV that gives you room for up to seven people, with two up front, two in the third row, and three in between. One of the great things about the Explorer is that you get this extra seating without going up to something too large, so it won’t threaten to overtake your life. Three engines are offered on the 2023 Explorer, including a standard 2.3L I-4 with 300 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque and an available hybrid V6 that offers a fantastic driving experience.

Inside the Explorer, you’ll find plenty of room for all of your passengers, though you might prefer to have kids ride in the third row as it can be a little cramped for adults. That being said, you still get 18.2 cu.ft. of cargo space in the rear, with 47.9 cu.ft. of cargo volume behind the second row, and 87.8 cu.ft. of total cargo space behind the front row of seats. The Explorer comes with a standard 10.1-inch infotainment display, plus excellent comfort and tech features throughout.

The Ford Expedition

The largest model in Ford’s lineup, the Expedition is a three-row, full-size SUV that’s the perfect choice if you have a big family or one that’s growing. Two engines are offered on the Explorer, starting with a 3.5L Turbo V6 with 400 hp and 480 lb-ft of torque, though an available High-Output V6 boosts those numbers up to 440 hp and 510 lb-ft of torque. This is excellent power for such a large SUV, and it makes it incredibly fun to drive.

There are two versions of the Expedition available, and the amount of room inside depends on which you choose. The standard Expedition has 20.9 cu.ft. of cargo space in the rear, 63.6 cu.ft. of cargo volume behind the second row, and 104.6 cu.ft. of total cargo space available. If you go with a larger MAX model, then you get 36 cu.ft. of rear cargo volume, with 79.6 cu.ft. behind the second row, and 121.5 cu.ft. of total cargo space. With all of this room plus an available 15.5-inch infotainment system, the Expedition is an amazing choice if you want a full-size SUV with incredible features throughout.

The Ford Bronco Sport

If you want a fantastic off-road crossover model, then you have two options available from Ford, starting with the Bronco Sport, a subcompact crossover built for the trail. It has a standard 1.5L Turbo engine that offers 181 hp and 190 lb-ft of torque, with an available 2.0L I-4 that boosts that up to 250 hp and 277 lb-ft of torque. This is a two-row model, as you’d expect from its small size, with 32.5 cu.ft. of rear cargo space and 65.2 cu.ft. of total cargo volume available inside for you to load up with all of your camping gear. Built for the trail, the Bronco Sport comes with 4×4 standard, along with Goes Over Any Type of Terrain (G.O.A.T.) Modes and a High-Performance Off-Road Stability Suspension (H.O.S.S.) system that can tackle anything you throw it at.

The Ford Bronco

If you want a larger SUV for tearing up the trail, then the 2023 Ford Bronco is an unbeatable option. This is bigger than the Bronco Sport, with two-door and four-door models available, offered with a 2.3L I-4 engine that delivers 300 hp or a 330-hp 2.7L V6. While automatic transmissions are standard and the only option across most of Ford’s SUVs, the standard engine on the Bronco is offered with a seven-speed manual transmission.

The capability of the Bronco is truly exceptional, thanks to multiple G.O.A.T. Modes, standard 4×4, and the amazing H.O.S.S. system. You get a removable top on the Bronco, along with removable doors, so you can really open up your SUV while you’re out on the trail. Available steel bash plates can protect the underside in even the roughest conditions, and the Wildtrak model with its Sasquatch Package is truly exceptional for hitting the trail. If you want to take things even further, then check out the incredible Ford Bronco Raptor with its H.O.S.S. 4.0 system with FOX Live Valve shocks and massive 37-inch all-terrain tires.

The Ford Mustang Mach-E

If you’re looking to step into the all-electric future of the auto industry, then take a look at the Ford Mustang Mach-E. Available with either a Standard Range or Extended Range battery and single-motor rear-wheel drive or dual-motor all-wheel drive, the Mach-E delivers exceptional performance and range. A Mustang Mach-E GT model can deliver 634 lb-ft of instant torque, with other configurations being able to go up to 314 miles on a full charge. This is a compact model with two rows of seating and plenty of power for one of the most exhilarating and joyful driving experiences on the road.

There is a Ford SUV for Everyone

As you can see, the Ford SUV lineup really does have something for everyone, but so many options can make it tricky to decide which one is perfect for you. One of the easiest ways to approach this decision is to consider how much room you need inside and then choose a size class accordingly. From there, you can look at different available engines and trim levels to further narrow down your options and find just what you need. If you’re still not sure which model is right for you, then visit the amazing team of people at Faith’s Ford, part of Faith’s Automotive, and let them help you find the perfect SUV today.
