For more than 40 years, the Ford F-Series has been the best-selling truck in America––not only that, it is the best-selling vehicle of any type, with more than 40 million sold. This type of legacy doesn’t come easily and demonstrates just how committed Ford is to providing remarkable power, fantastic features, and incredible overall design. If you’re interested in the Ford F-150 and searched “Ford dealer near me” online to find yourself here, you’ve come to the right place. The great people at Faith’s Ford, a part of Faith’s Automotive, are among the biggest F-150 fans you’ll ever find, and they know these incredible trucks inside and out. Once you’ve chosen the F-150, you’ve done most of the work to decide on the right truck, but you still have one big decision ahead of you: picking the right trim. There are eight trim levels available for the 2023 F-150, and there are some significant differences between them, so it’s crucial you choose the right one. Let’s take a look at all eight trims and get a sense of what each has to offer so that you can decide which is the perfect one for you.

Ford F-150 XL

The starting trim for the 2023 F-150 is the XL, and it comes with the standard features for this truck, so it’s the ideal place to start. It comes with a 3.3L V6 engine that delivers a solid 290 hp and 265 lb-ft of torque, giving you excellent power and performance. This is paired with an electronic 10-speed automatic transmission––every F-150, regardless of the trim and engine, comes with this transmission. There are six other engines available for the F-150, which will impact performance and towing.

With the XL trim, you get 17-inch wheels wrapped in all-season or all-terrain tires, though more options are available. Standard features inside the F-150 XL include vinyl flooring and cloth seating with front and rear bench seats. You’ll find an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment display, a four-inch productivity display for the driver, and manual air conditioning inside. There are plenty of available options for upgrades to the XL, such as dual-zone automatic temperature control and more comfortable seating, which you can also find standard on higher trims.

Ford F-150 XLT

Moving up to the XLT trim, you’ll find a number of things that are the same as the standard XL, but there are numerous upgrades too. The XLT has the same standard engine and 17-inch wheels, but there are a variety of visual improvements. The XL has black bumpers and a black grille surround, while the XLT features chrome bumpers, a chrome grille surround with black accents, and more chrome details available. Interior features are similar, though the XLT has more options available, like an eight-inch productivity screen and Ford’s advanced Pro Trailer technology that you can’t get on the standard trim.

Ford F-150 Lariat

With the Lariat, you get a lot of upgrades from the previous trims, starting with a standard 2.7L EcoBoost V6 engine that delivers 325 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque for fantastic overall performance. The Lariat comes with 18-inch wheels wrapped in all-season tires and has chrome details and extra touches like body-color caps on the side mirrors, plus LED headlamps, tail lamps, and fog lamps. There are massive upgrades inside the Lariat, such as a 12-inch digital productivity screen for the driver, dual-zone automatic temperature control, and ambient lighting. You also get a 12-inch infotainment display with the latest SYNC 4 technology, plus leather-trimmed seating with a 10-way power driver seat.

Ford F-150 King Ranch

Going even further, the King Ranch comes with a 5.0L V8 engine that delivers 400 hp and 410 lb-ft of torque. The previous trims all come with 4×2 standard and have 4×4 available, while the King Ranch features 4×4 at no extra cost for excellent control in all kinds of road conditions. You get remote tailgate release functionality with the King Ranch plus gorgeous exterior details like accent-color front and rear bumpers, body-color side-mirror caps, and two-tone paint treatment––not to mention 20-inch machined aluminum wheels.

The interior of the King Ranch is incredible thanks to leather trim bucket seats with a center Flow-Through console, a Mesa leather-wrapped steering wheel, genuine wood interior accents, and heated front and rear seats. You get Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control with the King Ranch, rather than standard cruise control, a wireless charging pad, and the same impressive 12-inch screens. The King Ranch also comes with a Bang & Olufsen sound system, rain-sensing wipers, a heated steering wheel, and much more.

Ford F-150 Platinum

The Platinum trim has the same engine as the King Ranch and a lot of similar features, though there are some important differences. You get power deployable running boards on the Platinum if you choose a SuperCrew model, making it easy to get in and out of your truck. The interior of the Platinum features a black leather-wrapped steering wheel with wood accents throughout, plus Multicontour leather bucket seats that are incredibly comfortable and look fantastic.

Ford F-150 Limited

Now we come to the Limited, the pinnacle of the 2023 F-150. The Limited comes with a 3.5L PowerBoost Full Hybrid V6 engine that delivers 430 hp and a massive 570 lb-ft of torque. This engine is incredibly powerful, giving you up to 12,700 lbs of towing capacity and one of the best driving experiences in any truck on the road. You get a power tailgate, and the Limited comes with Ford’s Pro Power Onboard system, giving you 7.2kW of electrical output via outlets in the bed, transforming this amazing truck into a mobile generator.

The Limited comes with 22-inch wheels and a twin-panel moonroof that’s offered on other models but not included. Inside the Limited, you’ll find an Admiral Blue leather-wrapped, heated steering wheel, Multicontour leather seating, and a gorgeous design. You also get a Bang & Olufsen Unleashed sound system with 18 speakers for an incredible audio experience, an interior work surface thanks to a stow-away gear shift lever, and Ford’s Pro Trailer tech. If you’re looking for the best truck on the road, you’ve found it.

A silver 2023 Ford F-150 Tremor is shown parked in an open dirt lot.

Ford F-150 Tremor

The first of two F-150 options for hitting the trail, the Tremor is ideal if you want something great both on and off the road. It comes with the 5.0L V8 engine with 400 hp and 410 lb-ft of torque, standard 4×4, and unique off-road-tuned shocks. Systems like Trail Control with 1-Pedal Drive and Trail Turn Assist, all designed to assist you when maneuvering in rough conditions off-road, are available. You get 18-inch aluminum wheels wrapped in 33-inch all-terrain tires and skid plates to protect the underside of the Tremor. Inside, you’ll find the 12-inch displays available, along with unique leather-trimmed upholstery featuring Tremor badging and Active Orange stitching.

Ford F-150 Raptor

Although the F-150 Tremor is a great off-road truck, if you want a pickup that can handle pretty much any trail imaginable, you need to check out the F-150 Raptor. The standard Raptor comes with a 3.5L EcoBoost High-Output V6 engine that delivers 450 hp and 510 lb-ft of torque for incredible performance and the power to go anywhere you want. If you want to experience something extraordinary, then the all-new 2023 F-150 Raptor R takes things to the next level with a 5.2L supercharged V8 engine that provides a monstrous 700 hp and 640 lb-ft of torque. This is the most powerful F-150 ever made.

The standard Raptor has sport-tuned FOX Live Valve internal bypass shocks built for desert running and the harshest terrain imaginable. Trail Control with Trail 1-Pedal Drive comes standard on the Raptor. You also get 17-inch wheels wrapped in either 35-inch or 37-inch BFGoodrich all-terrain tires. Inside you’ll find unique Raptor all-weather rubber floor mats that are easy to clean. The unique leather-wrapped steering wheel has thumb pads for added grip on the trail, while the comfortable Recaro leather sports seats boast Alcantara suede trim with Rhapsody Blue accents.
